TELEHEALTH & IN-PERSON   |   ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Confidentiality & Privacy Notice

Updated 06/01/2026

Everything you share with your therapist at Emerge Therapy Services is confidential. As licensed mental health professionals, we are both ethically and legally bound to keep your personal information private. What you discuss in session stays in session.

What confidentiality means in practice:

We will not share your name, your story, or any details of your care with anyone outside of Emerge Therapy Services without your written consent — including family members, employers, or other providers.

There are a few exceptions to confidentiality that we're required by law to disclose:

  • If we have reason to believe you are at risk of harming yourself or someone else

  • If there is reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect involving a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult

  • If we receive a valid court order requiring disclosure

  • If you provide written authorization for us to communicate with another provider or party on your behalf

In any of these situations, we will make every effort to discuss the matter with you directly before taking action, whenever it is safe and appropriate to do so.

A note about digital communication:

Email and contact forms are not fully secure or confidential by nature. Please use your best judgment when sharing sensitive information through our website contact form or via email. If you'd like to discuss something private, we recommend waiting until you're connected with your therapist directly.

Telehealth sessions are conducted through TherapyNotes, a HIPAA-compliant practice management platform, to ensure your privacy is protected throughout your care.
